Achievements

During 2008, the Resettlement Department at Aylesbury YOI undertook research into the re-offending of Trail-Blazers mentees who had been released during the previous two years.

The average over the two years was a reoffending rate of 9% - compared with government figures of over 70%.

We are extremely proud of this achievement as it proves that what we do brings results!

Also, during that period, the approximate cost of Trail-Blazers mentoring a young offender amounted to just under £ 1,500 per mentee per year.

Recently, the Foyer Foundation released figures that indicate that the total cost of keeping a young offender in prison for a year amounts to £105,000.

On that basis, Trail-Blazers has saved the government over £ 7 million during the past 11 years!

To date, Trail-Blazers does not receive any government funding.
